He has won several major international improvisation competitions: Lyon (1977 & 1979, respectively piano and organ) and Chartres (1982).
He teaches composition and improvisation at the Lyon Conservatoire Supérieur and at the Musikene (Higher school of music of the Basque Country) in San-Sebastián (Spain). Before being appointed organist at Saint Pothin Church (Lyon) in 1989, he shared the organ chair at Saint Pierre de Neuilly with Jean-Claude Henry for 15 years.

His compositions for organ, piano, orchestra, choir, as well as chamber music, are published at Éditions Lemoine, Billaudot, Notissimo, Fuzeau and Rubin. He has recorded works by 20th century composers (Casterede, Claustre) as well as improvisations (RFM, Verany and Hortus labels).
