Pierre Nimax jun.

He was born in Luxembourg in 1961. He was introduced to music by his father, Pierre Nimax Sr., Maître de Chapelle de la Cour Grand-Ducale, by Albert Leb­lanc, organist of the Cathedral of Saint Mary of Luxembourg and Pierre Drauth. He earned a serie of diplomas, including organ and harpsichord, at Brussels Royal Music Conservatory. Nimax then went to obtain a State Diploma in Catholic Church Music under the tutelage of Rudolf Ewerhart at Cologne Conservatory. At the same time he studied composition with A. Müllenbach at Luxembourg Conservatory.

From 1986 to 1998, Nimax was titular organist at the parish church of St. Martin’s in Dudelange. He is the Artistic Director of FIMOD, the International Organ Music Festival of Dudelange.

In 1991 Pierre Nimax was appointed professor of church music and organ at Luxembourg Conservatory.

He has enjoyed the honor of appearing as choir conductor and organist in most countries of the European Union as well as in Japan. Apart from a serie of CD and DVD releases dedicated to the work of Luxembourg composers, Pierre Nimax has also made recordings for radio and film and published research in the areas of Luxembourg church and organ music.
