Matthieu Stefanelli : Les Fleurs du Paradis
This album is related to the mystery
of Faith, the feeling that there exists
something grand, grandeur beyond that of
Man, at the origin of Creation, something
I have attempted to translate in music, for
Music is in my view a form of the Sacred,
and Man is the conveyence thereof, a
witness. Les Fleurs du Paradis are a tribute
to the Cathedral of Notre-Dame in Paris.
Missa Brevis – In Tempus Sacri alludes
to the mystery of Creation via the use of
gregorian chants within the Mozarabic
tradition. The Sonate Aevum for violin and
piano calls forth Thomas Aquinas and Lux
for piano pays homage to J. S. Bach.
