À la différence des sonates dites pour « basse-continue » où seule la main gauche est écrite, toutes les sonates présentes sur ce disque ont pour point commun d’être pour « clavier obligé », c’est-à-dire avec une main droite écrite comme un second dessus qui peut dialoguer avec la flûte. Par la magie de la polyphonie, le duo se transforme ainsi en un trio.
